• Boston Massacre 1770
- First time any fighting happened
- Wasn’t a real battle
- A lot of British soldiers
- There was a big riot, and the British shot civilians
- There was a crowd in front of the Common house where the tax collectors were
• Boston Tea Party
- Finally took action
- Dumped a lot of tea into the harbor
- Revolt against tea taxes
- Closed Boston Harbor
- Made King George unhappy
- Very shocking to Britain

Continental Congress’s
• Two continental congress
• 1st had 12 out of the 13 continental colonies
• When colonies came together
• 2nd is when we wrote the declaration of independence

- Start of war
- First blood shed
- Occurred outside of Boston

• Battle of Bunker Hill
- Boston
- Great lost for England
- Became eminent that they Colonists were underestimated

- 1 year into American Revolution
- Written at 2nd continental congress
- Stated that we have independence from Great Britain because of the damage they had done to us.
- Written by Thomas Jefferson, our second president

- Big win for the Colonies
- Stop the invasion of British Troops from Quebec
- Over 6,000 British soldiers were captured by Colonies
- 2 separate fights
- 2 separate places
- Captured British’s General Burgoyne
- Big turning in the war
• France enters war
- Bad for British
- To get revenge from the French and Indian War
- Big advantage for Colonies
- One of the main reasons we won the war
- Colonies had 0 allies
- They turned to France for help
